Christmas isn't over....

I started working on Buttermilk Basins Vintage Tree Quilt this week...
Just need to stitch the truck down.
Then I started working in Buttermilk Basin FREE mystery BOM. 'Let it snow'. I wasn't gonna do it because I need another project like I need a hole in my head but after seeing everyone's block and how stinking cute they are, I changed my mind.
I need to stitch him down also. Now I have added more to my stitching basket... Oh boy!

Vicks....

Has anyone ever seen this post on Vicks vaporub? I had heard of a couple of these ideas but there are more.
I have no idea if any of the silly ones work, like rubbing it on your feet, or acne!? I also heard if you put it on your feet and wear socks, your legs won't cramp up. Who knows.  Just thought I would pass it on. Maybe we should have some in our medicine cabinet just in case. Haha.

Back to work...

Sad day today....school started back up so that means vacation is over.
Sunday, I took down the very last of my Christmas decorations and hung this baby up.
I have a feeling that this might be the longest week in history coming up..

Farmhouse threads....

Went to the warehouse sale today...wow...fat quarters, buy 1, get 2 free... Yep that's right! 1/2 yd bundles.. Buy 1 @ 3.00, get 1 free. In other words, a yard of fabric for $3.00.. Youza... When you turn around, same fabric on bolt for $12.00' but it was 25% off... Ya, no thanks... I can have it in 2 pieces.
Other notions and patterns were incredible prices too.
Oh, look at this..

This whole kit... under $ 50.00.... It 72x92... It's Moda... I couldn't begin to tell you how many yards of fabric are stuffed into this box.
Incredible sale, but... They need to mark down there fabric on the bolt like Red Door Designs does.. 3.00 a yard...then I will be in serious trouble... Good thing RDD only has a sale once a year.

Tree trimming party...

That's the name of the pattern. I was in a race for daylight to take the picture and didn't take any of the loose threads off.

He measures 36x36 and is the cutest thing. If I make it again, I am going lighter on the base of the tree. Can't really see it.
I am so spoiled with Primitive Gatherings patterns already being reversed, that I didn't even think twice when I cut these out. Oh well.. Still is wonderful!

Christmas, again...

I think I have a problem... As I look as things I have bought in the past, I keep buying Christmas stuff. This is what I'm working on now. It must be my favorite time of year.
But there is a positive here... I'm working on my 'to do's' and just not letting them sit there or be forgotten about.
Seems like an easy quilt to assemble. We shall see. I go back to work Monday so I'm trying to get as much done as I can.

Stars are Shining...

She's all quilted, finally...
All washed and crinkled...ready for the couch & some rainiy weather.
I've done outlining/echoeing only 1 time before. Not sure it's my favorite...I guess it just takes practice and getting used to it.
It is a Timeless Traditions pattern...called The Stars Are Shining and she measures 66x76

Allietare....

Has anyone been participating in Bonnie Hunter's Mystery sew along?  She has a fun blog also, Quiltville. I am on my iPad, otherwise I would put a link in so you could just click but I haven't figured how to do it. Every Friday, for the past 6 weeks she posted a clue on putting together a quilt called Allietare. She was inspired to create it on a trip she took to Tuscany. She is amazing... To dream, create, write, publish a quilt from just a vision... Unbelievable! And in just a short amount of time.
I had been keeping up, I knew if I got behind I would never finish... On Friday she posted the big reveal. Just gorgeous .. It is now going into the room of "needs to be quilted" and it will have scalloped edges. I just have to make a note because I will forget. I have outgrown the 'basket' of needs to be quilted.. I just moved them to another room. If my machine would work more than not work and stop giving me troubles, I could maybe get some quilted up.
She measures, 82x96.. She's not small by any means

Finish #1 for the new year...

Holly's Tree Farm...
This is my first finish... I actually finished it a couple days ago, but I'm saying it's my first finish for the new year. I started it a couple days after Christmas and had no idea how quick it was gonna be.
It was really fun to make. Literally, a mindless sew and the results are awesome.
And I picked this for the back.
Looks at all these fun labels.. Aren't they just the cutest!
